Camping & General Event Questions
Q: How many can we camp in the competitors site?
A total of 8 people including driver/navigator & crew
Q: When can we arrive at the site?
Only team members with a Pit Pass arranged prior to arriving will be allowed on site before the general public. Teams are allocated 8 Pit Passes, other team members that are not included within the 8 will have to enter the site with all the other spectators.
Q: Where do I camp?
Teams are allocated specific areas within the Pits. See the Competition Managers on arrival at the event for a site induction before unpacking.
Q: Are kids allowed to camp in the Pits?
Yes, but you must notify the Competition Managers ASAP (before the event) if kids will be camping with your team (inc. support crew members children) as this will effect where you camp in the pits for safety reasons.
Q: How large is the camping area for each team in the Pits?
An area of approx. 14 x 9 m2 per team is allocated. The shape and size will differ for each site, but you can use this size to help plan your pit area.
Competition & Driving Questions
Q: I have heard that Rego is no longer required to compete in TTC?
That is correct, please see rule 4.1.2 b of the Rules & Regulations for an explanation of this.
Q: Can I enter my buggy in Tuff Truck?
The Tuff Truck concept was not designed for buggies. The vehicles have to meet all of the requirements under our supplementary rules
Q: Can I use my spare wheel during stages?
The spare wheel may only be used in the event of failure of one of the driving wheels on the vehicle. The spare wheel cannot be used as a traction aid, or to assist the vehicle to continue forward motion.
Q: My family is staying at home, so it is just me and my navigator – who can use the extra tickets?
Anyone you like, but we recommend your crew (the guys who fix your truck once you’ve broken it) or maybe some mates who can help you on the trip home after Tuff Truck
Q: I notice the rules about helmets has changed – why is this?
All helmets must have the AS1698 label stitched inside the helmet, and not just the sticker on the back. Scrutineers will be checking for these labels. We need to ensure safety for all competitors throughout the event.
Q: Do I need a special licence to compete?
All drivers and navigators must hold a current drivers licence (not learners permit). Please make sure that both are current and valid prior to arriving on site.
Q: I’ve made some modifications to my vehicle and I want to ensure its is acceptable and within the rules – what can I do?
Firstly, contact our Competitions Manager and describe the modification.
