  • Engine
  • 350 Chev that's bored 60 thou with a high torque cam
  • Jacobs drag racing ignition running through Scorcher electronic distributor
  • LPG conversion and the motor is kept cool by a rear mounted radiator with heavy duty Davies Craig electric water pump. Our water pump has a run-on timer so it can continue to cool the motor even after engine has been switched off
  • Gearbox and Tranny
  • TH400 box with a super-low-stall torque convertor with off-road shift kit and manual valve body
  • Custom twin stick tranny. 3.75:1 crawl ratio. Our tranny has the ability to select rear only, front only, or 4wd. This allows front digs without need for a rear shaft disconnect.
  • Diffs and Steering
  • GU front diff with air locker. Front swivel hubs have been reversed to accept the steering configuration and make way for 5 link suspension
  • GU Rear diff (H260) with Detroit locker
  • GU Steering box with high flow power steering pump kit
  • GU Brake system including booster
  • Custom chrome moly draglink and track rods by TJM engineering
  • TJM Engineering custom 15x10 Beadlock wheels
  • Re-grooved 44" Swampers + 44" boggers

  • Billet front trailing arms by TJM Engineering manufactured from bizalloy80

  • 12" coil drop-outs on rear for additional articulation
  • Chrome molly rear adjustable trailing arms
  • Chassis chopped and modified to accept different engine/gearbox and suspension configuration
  • Body and Protection
  • Body cut down to B-pillar forward only running cut down doors
  • 8 point roll cage linking into the rear tray
  • Heavy duty floor to provide strength for the roll cage
  • Rock sliders and front bar work for body protection
  • Front has been modified to allow winch to sit as far back as possible for a better approach angle
  • Schroth racing harnesses matched to seats from an MR2 turbo
  • CV /spares box fabricated into the bodywork behind seats

  • Truck has been wired up from scratch with all fuses and relays located inside cab. We also have backup circuits and relays so we can quickly make repairs on the run if necessary
  • Custom dash, Dual Battery system, plenty of rock lights
  • Ramsey navigators remote for our winch that enables the navigator to operate the winch at a distance.

Why would you like to compete?

Chubby 2 is the only G60 on the circuit. He's not a big budget truck, doesn't look pretty, won't win show and shine, but he sure goes bloody good. We managed a 9th finish in last years Tuff Truck and didn't have to lift a spanner all weekend.

This year, I want more bonuses and a better finish
